The riches of the world present themselves in forms such as statuses to attain or an abundance of family and friends. Yet, a never-ending emptiness still persists in the heart. Why do we feel that way sometimes? Have you ever wondered why the Creator, Allah ﷻ, has blessed us with another day of life?
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
“I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me.”
Quran 51:56
Why does finding our purpose make us complete?
Consider this: An emptiness remains in our hearts even if we had all we aspired for in life—material meant for the bodies. The void in the spiritual heart widens because we forget The One ﷻ who gave us everything we have and had. Allah ﷻ, out of His Infinite Mercy and Love, creates that emptiness within us as a calling, a reminder to return to Him.
Imagine a Mighty King who relentlessly seeks your attention even after you have been distracted by the allures of the world that are in His Kingdom. A King calling for His servant to come back to Him? SubhanAllah.
Allah ﷻ defines our lives and offers us a greater purpose, one that transcends society’s definition of success. We do not wake up solely for worldly pursuits; if we limit ourselves to that, we fail to realise our true potential. We wake up for Him, to worship Him, because we are in constant need of His Guidance, Love and Mercy in every aspect of our being. We wake up to realise our greatest potential is beyond the body, which will soon perish?
But how do we connect with The One ﷻ who grants us purpose?
To forget Him is to fall short of understanding what we were created for.
But to remember Him is simple: Start by being conscious of every small detail in our daily activities. Observe how our body parts move, the materials of the clothes we wear every day, and acknowledge the gift of life that is restored to us after each night’s slumber. Who was The One enabling every single micro and macro process? When we know that Allah ﷻ is empowering us, when we become aware that He is the only One making us capable of performing the things we want and need to do, we will then realise our highest potential. The Real Us. The Immaterial.
The choice of companionship is also important to uplift our state and offer growth. The circles around us influence us the most—family, friends, and our careers. That is where we must take ownership and accountability when choosing our companions. Let go of those who do not align with your layer of spiritual fulfilment. Take charge of our relationship with Allah ﷻ today before we meet Him.
EMBRACE THE LOVE AND CALLING FROM ALLAH ﷻ AND REMEMBER THAT IT IS THROUGH HIM THAT WE FIND PURPOSE, CONTENTMENT, AND EVERLASTING FULFILMENT.
Connect with Him in every moment, for He is the source of our strength, guidance, and ultimate salvation. May our journey towards Him be filled with blessings, and may we find solace and tranquilly in His Divine Presence.
