Today, I learned the first 3 pages of Iqra book 1.

Inshallah, I make niyyah to attend Rose of Madina Iqra lessons on Saturday and Sunnah, Solat and Fiqh class on Friday.

My mentor NaNa was an excellent teacher – neither too hurried nor too slow, neither too lenient nor too challenging. Alhamdulillah for Mentor NaNa’s Patience and guidance.

Earlier in the day, sis Apple coached me on the placement of huruf on lips, nose, tongue and throat. SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi.

My reflection of learning Quran is that it is the only way to truly grow and get closer to Allah . The Quran is the definitive and only guide for our time, containing the truth, illumination, guidance and light that is the word of Allah.

I need to learn, study and strive in the excellence of reading, reciting and connecting to Allah’s divine word.

I make dua that Allah sustains, maintains and strengthens me in my journey to get closer to Him.

Upon further reflection, my take-home lesson is La ilaha illa Allah. It is he who eases my affairs and controls my every breath.

I need to stay vigilant and guard against arrogance. I cannot ever allow myself to think for one second that I can do anything by my own effort, without Allah’s permission and will.

I must, and I need to always remind myself that nothing can come to pass except by His will.

I have no control over the outcome of my decision, however with every choice I make, Allah gives me plenty of chances to redeem myself when I make mistakes and wrong choices.

I am given the bakarah of repentance, and for that I am truly grateful and can only end my reflection with Alhamdulillahi Rabbil alamin.

Astaghfirullahalazim. May Allah forgive us for mistakes and shortcomings, and accept our deeds, Inshallah.
