Every morning, say Alhamdulillah for another day to try and make things right with Allah SWT as we are not ready to meet Him for His judgement yet. Every birthday, say Alhamdulillah that Allah SWT gave us another year to worship Him and make du’a that He guide us to better worship Him until the day that we return back to Him.
The whole point of our lives is to be better Muslims.
Allah SWT did not choose an angel to lead us, He chose a man so that we can emulate the practices. Rasulullah ﷺ also had nafs but he taught us how to contain it. Just because someone is a scholar or a teacher, it does not mean that they have it easy. They may have nafs that are greater than our own, but perhaps they fought a bigger fight against their nafs and Allah SWT raised their position.
ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO FIGHT AGAINST THE NAFS IS THE SALAAH. BUT BEFORE SALAAH, ONE NEEDS TO GAIN THE ILM TO LEARN HOW TO WORSHIP ALLAH SWT PROPERLY.
When one is unaware of the Majesty, Beauty and Perfection of Allah SWT, they fear getting close to Him. Do we not see the favours that Allah SWT has given to us. The way that our bodies are designed and created. At this moment, you being able to breathe, see, scroll, read, comprehend…how then can we deny His favours.
If you fear for your sins, then Allah SWT will protect you from your sins, subhanAllah. How Merciful is our Allah SWT. Won’t your heart ache and bleed knowing that there’s literally nothing that you can do, as the creation, to give anything worthy to Him? There’s only sincere love for Him and even that is something that He put in us. SubhanAllah. My Allah is the Most Praiseworthy.
Nothing happens without the permission and approval of Allah SWT.
One cannot be a Muslim without Allah SWT’s permission, one cannot seek knowledge without Allah SWT’s permission, one cannot remember Allah SWT without Allah SWT’s permission.
We cannot forget the One who takes care of us beyond our imagination. We need to exchange our sins for good deeds and even this exchange is a Mercy from Him.
Get intoxicated with seeking Allah SWT and the love of Allah SWT. Spread the news to those who needs to hear the love and hope in Allah SWT.
We will sin, that is the reality of it. But the strive to perfection is cherished by Allah SWT. Never attribute good back to yourself. But understand that being Muslim, the steps taken to being Muslim and all that is in between are gifts from Allah SWT and not ourselves.
Allah SWT decides everything and His Will and His Decision is the Most Exalted, Most Perfect. Even if He takes something/someone away from you, know that is a Mercy from Him.
Cry out of being thankful to Him, not because you are unhappy with His Decision.
If you knew the way that He manages your affairs, your heart will melt.
We need to be satisfied with EVERYTHING that Allah SWT has decreed, even more so in the difficult times.
This makes you a true and sincere believer. And the way to attain that level of imaan is to seek ilm and to ask Allah SWT to help internalise the ilm.
Never be arrogant in front of Allah SWT.
Never tear the hijab of sins (that you should only keep between Allah SWT and yourself) that He has put over you.
We need to reach the level of awliya(friends of Allah) where the sins that we commit are sins of forgetting Allah SWT instead of sins of actions and flesh.
“I am as my slave thinks of Me”
If you think Allah SWT will forgive you, then He will forgive you, if you think that He will never forgive you, then He won’t forgive you.
Sleep in a state of Istighfar, even if you have messed up the whole day. Fall asleep with Istighfar hanging off your tongue.
One hasn’t tasted the sweetness of life until they have sought beneficial knowledge.
Even at your job, you need knowledge and that will determine the level of your salary.
What more on the Day of Resurrection, when we will be judged according to the amount of beneficial knowledge that we have practiced and gained throughout our life.
Seeking knowledge requires a proper teacher – and the opposite of that is the shaitaan as a guide.
There is honour is seeking the knowledge of Allah SWT and Allah SWT gives ilm to whomever He Wills.
Beneficial Knowledge:
Knowledge that brings us close to Allah
Fardu Ain (Individual Obligation)
strive to seek this – this is for everyone – those who have sought this would have received a large portion of the inheritance of Rasulullah ﷺ and InsyaAllah we may be considered among the relatives of Rasulullah ﷺ.
Non-beneficial knowledge
Information that makes us forget Allah
Knowledge that doesn’t benefit neither our Deen nor worldly affairs
In times of difficulty and darkness, knowledge will come and be the light to guide us towards seeking Allah SWT in the best way insyaAllah.
The Shahada is the Main Point and the rest of 4 pillars should go back to answer the brief of la ilaha ilallah, including salaah.
The salaah needs to be both external and internal , khusyuk is something that we need to achieve in salaah.
Otherwise we will always see prayer as a burden and this is VERY dangerous because a mu’min should always look forward to meeting their Lord of the Worlds, to talk to Him, to strive for Him. We should not go to prayer like a tired corpse.
Do not be desperately in need of Allah SWT only in difficult times. Be thankful for Him even in times of ease.
The reality is that that even in prayer, that is by Allah’s permission that we can even go and take wudu and takbiratul ihram. All He asks is that we do it with 100% focus.
Clear whatever you need to clear before going into salaah – this includes the bowels and wind and extreme, distracting hunger.
