A Letter To My Beloved Prophet Muhammadﷺ

Assalāmu ‘alayka yā Rasulullah,

I write to You after walking the streets of Madinah, after my heart stood trembling near your Masjid and my eyes searched for peace in the city you loved. Madinah was just not a city for me, it was where my soul was.

Ya Rasulullah , sending salam upon you from so near your resting place made my tears fall uncontrollably and my heart filled with so much of emotions that I can’t explain. I felt so small, yet honoured. Felt so unworthy yet welcomed. Felt calm, yet longing for more time in your blessed city.

Thank you for Madinah, the city of gentleness, quiet tears and full of peace. Thank you for all the sacrifices you made so that we could know Islam and spread the knowledge.

Ya Rasulullah ﷺ, I ask Allahﷻ to help me carry Madinah within me wherever I go. To soften my character, to increase my patience in whatever I deal with and to live by your sunnah not only in my actions, but in my heart as well. Do not let me be someone who visited Madinah but left unchanged. I left your beautiful city with tears but also with a dua to return, if Allahﷻ wills and to meet you one day in Jannah, In Sha Allah.

Until then, I send you my Salam, my love and my endless selawat

upon you. May Allah unite us with you and grant us your intercession, Ameeen.
