Alhamdullilah i was given the taufiq to be able to attend the sembawang retreat.

Before this trip, my intention was nothing too big or extraordinary but it was too simply grow as a muslim.

This year has been a year where I get exposed to islam a lot and I’ve been put in situation where I as a muslim need to lead my university society.

So this year has shown me a lot about what I’m lacking and what I need to learn and due to my lack of knowledge and a bunch of bad habits, I’ve decided to attend this retreat to slowly train myself and my nafs to become a better person and muslim.

Alhamdullilah I’m glad I attend the retreat as it has been nothing short but beneficial and encouraging.

During this retreat, I’ve learned a lot such as: learning to reply with “sodaqota wabororta” after azan subuh “assolaatu khoirum minan nauun“, being able to extract more information and explain about “fa’lam annahu la illaha ila allah“, learning about tajwid like madd iwad and idgam bi ghunnah naqis and more.

I’ve also completed book 5 iqra which alhamdullilah miskin is really happy and I couldnt have done it without Allah helps.

I couldn’t have completed it if I didn’t set aside some time to attend this retreat and focusing all my time to improve.

Alhamdullilah this retreat has been an amazing experience for me and slowly I realise what i need to do and how to do it thanks to Ustaz Sameer.

Inshaallah

I would love to keep going for retreat like his as it’s one for my rare opportunity for me to get rid of my attachment to the world and fully focus on the hereafter with other pious people.
