One night in Madinah, several others and I had a lesson with Ustaz Sameer. We closed our eyes as Ustaz led us through our zikr; I made a silent du’a to allow me to see the Prophet ﷺ in his time.
Ustaz guided us through such a potent zikr that sometime after I closed my eyes, I saw visions of a village. The imagery was so pellucid that it was as if I were there, fully present and watching the myriad of activities around. Amidst the sandy ground and horses grazing the sparse grass, my eyes fell on a group of people sitting down and looking up in the distance.
Sitting on a wooden pulpit, there he was. Alas, Ustaz ended the zikr, and my vision ended too. As usual, I made another du’a to help me understand what I had seen. Was it something I conjured up, or was it really an image of the past? I would get my answer days later.
In Mecca, after Alya, Farah, and I left Masjid Al-Haram after isya’, we made our way to the clock tower. Although consumed by fatigue, we decided to head to the International Museum of the Prophet’s Biography. The museum depicted the life of our Beloved Prophet ﷺ in Mecca 1400 years ago, using advanced technology and visuals to create an immersive journey into Islamic history. It was indeed an experience that brought the past to life, and it confirmed my vision. There it was–a replica of a village.
It was this very village that I had seen. I moved into another section, and my eyes fell on the wooden pulpit. I silently thanked Him for yet again allowing me to understand my dreams and visions and connect the dots. Even though it was a really short vision, at least I got a glimpse of what and how it was during the Prophet’s time.
Being transported back 1400 years ago was nothing short of yet another miracle He has blessed me with. I am satisfied with what I have seen, and I know it won’t be the last. Years ago, I felt unlucky to survive and be rejected from His Paradise.
NOW, I CAN SAY WITH COMPLETE CERTAINTY THAT I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. IT IS INDEED SUCH A BLESSING TO BE ABLE TO PRAY, MOISTEN MY TONGUE WITH ZIKR, PERFORM MY UMRAH AND GET SNIPPETS OF OUR PROPHET ﷺ AND LEARN ISLAM MORE DEEPLY.
As long as Ustaz Sameer is sharing such potent zikr, I know, InshaAllah, I will ‘see’ and ‘experience’ more miracles.
