His Love Language

Allah, glory be to Him, says in the Quran:

“So remember Me; I will remember you.”

Quran 2:152

This verse is so simple, yet it carries such a powerful reminder.

Over time, I’ve realised that one of the easiest yet most meaningful blessings Allah has given us is sound, what we listen to can shape our hearts and minds.

I used to listen to music whenever I felt stressed or overwhelmed. At that time, I thought it was my escape, but deep inside, the calmness never really lasted.

When I started listening more to the Quran, I noticed a completely different kind of peace. But the real turning point came when I actually took the time to read the translations of the surahs I was reciting.

Subhanallah, it felt as though those exact verses were revealed for me at that moment.

The feeling of gratefulness I felt and realising that Allah has always had His ways of comforting us, lifting us up, and reminding us of Him, especially during times when we feel like everything in life is going downhill.

From that moment, I wanted to know more, understand more, and truly connect.

I slowly started making small changes like learning to read short surahs on my phone while looking at the translation, verse by verse and I tried to attend physical classes.

One of them was Ustaz Sameer’s class essential knowledge, where he often connects Quranic verses to real-life situations and background history. These sessions opened my eyes to so many meanings I had never thought about.

Through this, I realised something beautiful is that connecting with the Quran isn’t just a personal journey, it also brings people together.

From the start of my seeking journey up till now, my dear friend Diyanah and I do have deep conversations about the scientific wonders of the Quran, and every discussion leaves us amazed.

She became a point of motivation to always dig deep to know islam in general which pushes me to do some self reflections too which makes me really grateful for our friendship.

Subhanallah ,there’s always something new to discover and reflect upon. I feel that it is true that being around people who share the same intention which is to seek Allah and draw closer to Him will be a huge motivation to an individual.

It reminded me that surrounding yourself with people who encourage you in your deen can completely change your journey.

Alhamdulillah, Allah has answered my dua to have a circle that constantly reminds me of the Qur’an and islam.

If you’ve been wanting to connect with the Quran but don’t know where to start, I think the best way is to start small. Like starting with one verse a day and slowly being constant at it.

Read its meaning as you recite it or even better to join a class, tag a friend along so you can encourage each other.

It’s really not all about being perfect and knowing everything at once, what matters most is taking that first step and that will be a step closer to Allah.

Once you feel that sense of peace and closeness, you’ll actually realise that no other sound, no other words, can heal the heart the way Allah’s words do.

The journey ahead can take quite some time, and there is still so much to learn. But I believe that with patience, constant istighfar, and regular recitation, Allah will, Inshaallah grant us steadfastness and guide us closer to Him.
