Forgive Me, Ya Rasul

Ya Rasulullah, Alhamdulillah Thumma Alhamdulillah, for another invitation to your palace. This time I didn’t come alone. I came with a new family, gifted from my Rabb. I present to you my Rabb’s new Khalifah, still sitting within my belly… and my still dirty heart.

Ya Rasulullah, forgive me. For not taking care of my heart in the past year. Despite the blessings my Rabb has given me, I failed to take care of those blessings; my amanah. Forgive me for being so distracted with trivial things. I am unworthy of your invitation, while you were busy worrying for your ummah, thinking so endlessly about them, here I am being distracted with silly things when there are bigger matters at hand.

Ya Rasulullah, you were a Messenger for us so that we may follow your footsteps towards our Rabb. Yet, the state of your ummah is worsening, and I am partly to blame with my ghaflah. How could I let a moment of ghaflah pass by in such dire times? The example from you is very evident, you’ve cleared the path for us, all we had to do was follow it.

Ya Rasulullah, this time I return, with a renewed intention. To guard my heart more carefully, to carry this amanah with greater awareness, and to walk upon the path you left for us. I don’t claim any strength, only need. And I ask my Rabb, with Your Mercy, please me, please accept us.
