Ya Rasullullah, What Have We Done To Deserve You?

Ya Rasulullah,

What have we done to deserve a Sayyidina like you?

What have we done for you to love us so much?

What have we done for you that you would intercede for us?

What have we done that you would save us from the punishment of the Fire?

What have we done to merit a Prophet so beloved that earlier prophets and the righteous wished to be among your ummah?

What have we done to have you as the Best of Creation for us to follow?

What have we done to witness a miracle through you?

Like a small bird that carries water in its beak to quench a blaze,

I cling to your banner, Ya Rasulullah;

I strive to bear your flag, Ya Rasulullah.

I know you will not abandon or forsake me, Ya Rasulullah;

Your mercy calms my deepest fears, Ya Rasulullah.

Only through you do we receive Allah’s mercy,

For Allah sent you, O Muhammad ﷺ, as a mercy for all worlds.

Subhanallah!

With humble steps I walk where your light has led,

My heart is a lantern warmed by every word you shed.

In nights of doubt, your guidance is the nearest star,

Your Sunnah traces my path; your love dissolves my fear.

O Seal of The Prophets, through you my soul finds rest.

In your shade I lean; in your way I am blessed.

Alhamdulillah!
