A Love Letter to Rasulullah ﷺ

I have so much to say to you Ya Rasulullah ﷺ. So much to ask. But above all, I want to say I’m sorry.

Ya Rasulullah ﷺ, my heart has been in awe and enveloped in so much warmth watching the many many many Maulids and majlis-es that are being conducted in the remembrance of you. What a wonderful time it has been SubhanAllah. And Allah ﷻ has been so kind to invite the very undeserving me to these places too, to learn more about you, to even send my salams to you, to have my heart be comforted in the remembrance of Allah ﷻ and you.

I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY TO YOU YA RASULULLAH ﷺ. SO MUCH TO ASK. BUT ABOVE ALL, I WANT TO SAY I’M SORRY.

My heart aches when I think about how much you and the companions had to go through to bring us Islam, and yet how we take it for granted every single day. My heart aches when I think about how hungry you were, how much blood you shed for us, how much you cried and fought for us but yet how divided we stand today.

I’m sorry Ya Rasulullah ﷺ. I’m so so sorry Ya Rasulullah ﷺ for not being a better ummah to the best of creations. But I hope that you are comforted to know that your efforts were most definitely not in vain. That there are so many people (I’ve seen them!) who are trying their best to live right by Allah ﷻ and by you. That Islam has really spread and continues to grow because people learn about you and fall in love with you so easily. We’re trying Ya Rasulullah ﷺ. We can most definitely be better but please believe that we’re trying. I’m trying too.

I hope my salams have reached you despite the millions of better ones I’m sure are reaching you every second. I humbly ask for your love Ya Rasulullah ﷺ, for you to know my name and for you to acknowledge that I’m a trying servant in this blessed ummah of yours. And one day, may you seek me too and grant me the honour to be in your blessed presence, listening to your beautiful voice and stories.

We miss you so much Ya Rasulullah ﷺ. I miss you so much. May Allah ﷻ allow us to be reunited soon InshaAllah.
