The month of Ramadan is the one in which the Qur’ān was revealed as guidance for mankind, and as clear signs that show the right way and distinguish between right and wrong. So those of you who witness the month must fast in it. But the one who is sick, or is on a journey (should fast) as much from other days (as he missed). Allah intends (to provide) ease for you and does not intend (to create) hardship for you. All this is so that you may complete the number (of fasts as prescribed) and proclaim the Takbīr of Allah for having guided you, and (so) that you may be grateful.
Quran 2:185
🕋 As we welcome the night of Eid, let us spend these last few hours of Ramadhan / Arafah in acts beseeching Allah to accept our deeds.
- Recite plenty of Istighfar and seek His Pardon and resolve to lead a disciplined life
- Forgive others and remove grudges and rancor from our hearts
- Increase intentions to find teachers to study with and to Know Him and Worship Him better
- Enliven the night and the day of Eid with His Glorification and Zikr and Shukr (thankfulness)
- Remember to Fulfil your Ramadan Zakat Fitrah by tonight or before Eid Prayers
- For those unable to fast because of long term conditions, please take note to fulfill your Fidyah payments.
May Allah purify our wealth and deeds, Jazakamullah khairan
Virtues of Enlivening the Night of Eid
Our Beloved Prophet ﷺ said:
مَنْ قَامَ لَيْلَةَ الْعِيدِ مُحْتَسِبًا لَمْ يَمُتْ قَلْبُهُ يَومَ تَمُوتُ الْقُلُوبُ “Whoever spends the nights of the two ‘Eid in praying voluntary prayers, seeking reward from Allah, his heart will not die on the Day when hearts will die.”
Sunan Ibn Majah
“Adorn your Eid with takbir.”
Sunan al-Tabarani
“Adorn your two days of celebration (Eid) with tahlil, takbir, tahmid and taqdis.”
Narrated by Abu Nuaim
For Eidul Fitr: It is recommended to make the takbir from Maghrib on the eve of Aidilfitri until the sunnah Eidilfitri prayer the following day
For Eidul Adha: It is recommended to make the takbir after every prayer (fard or nafl) from Fajr on the Day of `Arafah (9th Dhu’l-Hijjah) until Asr on the 13th, the final day of the three Days of Tashriq.
