Dear Rasulullah,
I ask Allah to send a million salutations of peace and blessings upon you.
Meeting you is my greatest honour, as you are the most beloved of Allah’s creation. I recall visiting you for the second time last December. As we reached Medina and were approaching your masjid, I couldn’t help but be on the lookout for the signs that we were in your vicinity. Alas! The towering minarets of Masjid Nabawi came into view, peeking through the blocks of hotels bordering it. A wave of happiness overcame me, as a huge smile beamed across my face and tears started trickling down my cheeks.
It had been 10 years since I had last seen you, and I was thankful to be called by Allah to visit you again. The one whose Noor was created from the Light of Allah before He fashioned Prophet Adam a.s. from clay and gave him a high status with. The one who was so beloved and blessed that even being his ummah was the wish of the Mighty Prophet Musa a.s. — a man who himself had spoken to Allah. The one for whom the trunk of the palm tree wept so loudly when you no longer leaned on it.
Oh Rasulullah, you care about my own wellbeing more than I do for myself. You would supplicate for us at the end of every prayer and reserve your special supplication for our intercession on the Day of Resurrection.
There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer, [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.
(Surah At-Taubah : 128)
Oh Rasulullah, you loved us so much despite never having met us. You sacrificed so much to carry the flag of “La Ilaha Illallah” so that 1400 years later, I can be part of your community. I have the honour of being connected to you through a chain of teachers who have, like you, strived in the way of Allah. And what a great honour this is!
«The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I wish I could meet my brothers.” The companions said: “Are we not your brothers?” The Prophet ﷺ replied: “You are my companions, but my brothers are those who have faith in me yet they never saw me.” »

Yet upon reflection, have I lived up to this privilege? Shamefully, I must admit that the answer is no, for I have been heedless and full of sins. I fear that I will be the one causing you trouble on the Day of Judgement as you go back and forth to Allah pleading to save your ummah from the Hellfire. I make dua that I do not pass away in such a state and only leave this realm in a state that is pleasing to Allah and to you. In Sha Allah may we reunite in Jannah. Ameen.
