Are you Ready to Convert to Iman & Ihsan?

Are we going to be the community that lets the hard work of our Beloved Prophet ﷺ go into extinction during our time?

By Rose of Madinah

There are almost 2 billion Muslims in the world but how many are willing to fulfill the commitment of Deen which consists of Islam, Iman & Ihsan?

The Prophet ﷺ worked tirelessly to present to us the opportunities and established the principles of the 3 categories of faith: Islam, Iman & Ihsan. But as the majority understands the entry level of Islam, the vast heritage of true Iman & Ihsan is slowly eroding as prophesied.

ARE WE GOING TO BE THE COMMUNITY THAT LETS THE HARD WORK OF OUR BELOVED PROPHET ﷺ GO INTO EXTINCTION DURING OUR TIME?

There are definitely different categories and hierarchy of belief as mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah.

Allah mentions:
The bedouins say, ‘We have faith.’ Say,

‘You do not have faith, but rather say we have surrendered in Islam,’ for faith has not entered your hearts. If you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not diminish anything from your deeds. Verily, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Sūrat al-Ḥujurāt 49:14

As there is an oversupply of information and courses on Fiqh, let us not forget the Greater Fiqh of Iman as Imam Abu Hanifa(ra) categorized the sphere of True Iman.

There are established schools to preserve and codify these 3 spheres of Islamic heritage and knowledge:

  • •Islam/Fiqh: Schools of Jurisprudence preserved by the Faqih (Mazhab Fiqh: Maliki, Shafi, Hanafi, Hanbali)
  • Iman/Aqidah/Tawhid: Schools of Theology preserved by the Mutakallimīn (Mazhab Aqidah Ahl Sunnah wal Jemaah)
  • Ihsan/Tasawwuf/Tazkiyah: Schools of Ihsan preserved by the Murshids of Tasawwuf (Mazhab Ihsan: Tariqah)

As for all levels of faith, knowledge and the physical companionship of the bearers of knowledge are tantamount to actualization of these realities within.

Everyone loves a better standard of living. Even more, we should strive for a higher standing in the Hereafter.
So let’s ask ourselves these essential questions before our borrowed time runs out:

  • Should we not practice all aspects of Deen: Islam, Iman, Ihsan?
  • What is Ihsan?
  • Who is a Muhsin?
  • Why should I become a Muhsin?
  • How do I become a Muhsin?
  • Who are the bearers of Ihsan and where do I find them?

‘Has the time not yet come for believers’ hearts to be humbled at the remembrance of Allah and what has been revealed of the truth?….’

Quran 57:16
