Ironic

It is so ironic that we are ‘alims (scholars) of our jobs and society, but not ‘alims of the One ﷻ who gave us life.

What an irony that we must be pleased with Allah ﷻ when it should rightfully be the other way round. But Allah ﷻ is the Most Generous. We slip and choose the imperfect, the fragile, the temporary, the heartbreak, the dunya—because we are imperfect. But the Most Perfect Allah ﷻ sends us the most perfect of creation, Rasulullah ﷺ and the most perfect religion.

The fact that we have to die and the fact that we don’t know when, means that we are not in control of our life. It is an inevitable truth. If we want a long life, then ensure that we are worth making each extra second and moment in duty to Allah ﷻ, not bowing down to the temporary, transient nature of this dunya.

WE CANNOT BE THIEVES, STEALING FROM ALLAH ﷻ WITHOUT BEING THE LEAST BIT THANKFUL. THE TRUTH IS THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO PAY ALLAH ﷻ OR SERVE HIM PROPERLY, WE NEED HIS HELP TO EVEN THANK HIM, THEREFORE WE NEED TO BE SHAMEFUL IN FRONT OF ALLAH ﷻ.

It is so odd that we fear and lower ourselves in front our bosses, the government, the pop idols, the “rich and famous”, but it is so useless to do that or be in awe of them when they are mere imperfect creations of Allah ﷻ. Allah ﷻ gave them what they have and gave us what we have and He knows what’s best for us which means He has literally given us everything that we need already. We are rich beyond the amount in our bank accounts, beyond the price tags on our backs, beyond the value of our houses. Shall we not be grateful servants?

Have Istiqama. Keep seeking Allah ﷻ. He is the only One worth seeking for, the only one worth chasing after. We cannot run away from Allah ﷻ, literally, how can you run away from The One who created everything. It is like saying that one can remove their DNA to disassociate from their parents. You can run in the opposite direction from Him, sure, but the opposite direction of Him till infinity belongs to Him, too. So won’t you conclude that the sane thing to do is to run towards Him?

In The Last Days, Khusyuk and Ilm will be taken away. Alcohol, zina (adultery) and the such will be prevalent and celebrated. The desert will return to being an oasis. False caliphates will appear, they will seem like people of faith but they will preach falsehood and violence. Riba (usury) will affect and trap everyone.

Do not be contributors to the people of The Last Days, and do not obsess over The Last Days but rather, pay attention to your own last days before entering the grave. Both of them are unknown to us and we have to be prepared to navigate them.

There are many things that will take your attention away. But as believers, the only thing we can hope to hold on to, by the Will of Allah ﷻ, is La ilaha illAllah.

We are people who have been granted ease from Allah ﷻ and that ease is our jihad (definition: the strive and struggle in submission, servitude and obedience to Allah ﷻ). When He takes it all away, will we still be amongst those who declare La ilaha illAllah?

Do not exchange your Islam for anything else. Keep running back to Him, He is your only Wali, the Only One who knows you better than you. SubhanAllah. When all returns to dust, only Allah ﷻ remains.

7 categories of people who will enjoy Allah ﷻ’s shade on the Day of Judgement:

  1. A just ruler.
  2. A youth who grows up in the worship of Allah ﷻ.
  3. A man whose heart is attached to the mosques.
  4. Two people who love one another for the sake of Allah ﷻ.
  5. Someone who resists a direct temptation from the opposite gender.
  6. A person who is completely selfless in charity.
  7. A person who remembers Allah in private and sheds tears in doing so.

IT IS SO IRONIC THAT WE ARE ‘ALIMS (SCHOLARS) OF OUR JOBS AND SOCIETY, BUT NOT ‘ALIMS OF THE ONE ﷻ WHO GAVE US LIFE. WE NEED TO BUCK UP FOR THE SAKE OF THE LORD OF THE WORLDS.

One of the verses of the Noble Quran that really hit my heart in a sad, regretful and scary way is:

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرۡجِعُونِ

“When death approaches any of them, they cry, “My Lord! Let me go back”

Quran 23:99

There was a time where if the believers practised one tenth of the religion, they would be destroyed. But now we are in a time where if we practise one tenth of the religion, we will be saved. SubhanAllah.

We need to ask Allah ﷻ to open up our hijab between us and Him so that we can see Him powering everything. He is the Source. We cannot live a life with rose-tinted lenses unless those rose-tinted lenses are lenses of La ilaha illAllah.

Fasting is a means of detaching ourselves from our needs, and to subdue the nafs.

When you have true faith, you say Alhamdulillah and you can have nothing and you can be a destitute and you will still seek out Allah ﷻ, you will still hold on to whatever it takes to hold on to Allah ﷻ.

You will never even want a moment without Him, you will never even want to slow down your relationship with Allah ﷻ.
