Ya Rasulullah ﷺ. Ya Habibullah ﷺ

Ya imam al-Rusli. O leader of Messengers, you are the door to Allah.

Through your efforts and sacrifice, Islam was able to spread far and wide.
By Allah’s mercy, I was born into this blessed religion and even more through His great mercy I was blessed to be given my teachers who provided me a path and a chain that connects this undeserving person to you. You who are the best of those who walked upon the earth, so pure
in character and full of noble qualities.

Ya Rasulullah ﷺ, you are Rahmatan lil Alamīn. “A mercy to the worlds” (21:107).

After every prayer you made dua’ for us crying “Ummati, ummati” (“my ummah, my ummah”).

Constantly thinking and worrying about us. Even as this letter was written at the start it was still “I, I, I”, still full of ananiyyah (I-ness). We should follow in your footsteps but our efforts are so full of gaps, taqsir (shortcomings).

This muqassir (someone who falls shorts), doesn’t even know how to turn and face you, for being undeserving of you. How do I turn to face you when

I can’t bring anything to you? As our teachers chided us on my lack of effort, so many things to do to help carry this ummah of yours
and yet I do very little.

How am I to sleep the night?

When my beloved is Muhammadﷺ, his words precious pearls.

Yet this muqassir struggles to memorize your words (hadith) and struggle to memorize the Quran that you brought to us.

Even owing projects, I am not helping you at all ya Rasulullah ﷺ.

How can this muqassir dream of you, to even hope of meeting you. Full of sins and tainted corrupted heart. Just adding to your burdens when you make dua and intercession for us. Not making it easier for you at all, ya Rasulullahﷺ. I’m sorry.

All this one can do is beg of Allah to help this weak muqassir for sincerity and to increase love for you, ya Rasulullah. Begging Allah for help to be better, to be someone who is able and worthy to meet His Habibullahﷺ.
